The Gas Spares Team - Office:

Ann has been with us for 4 years and works in the office dealing with your calls and queries. Ann is very thorough and always does her utmost to help the customer.

She is married to Michael has 2 children and 4 grandchildren, oh and a cat called Tommy. In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and family, doing pub quizzes and going to pop concerts.

Our Deputy manager Audrey, is our longest serving member of staff with 24 year’s experience within the company.

As well as taking your calls and serving at the trade counter she handles returns and sorts out credits. Highly respected, her knowledge of spare parts is remarkable.

Any spare time she has is spent with her husband Ian, watching TV, listening to music and walking in the beautiful countryside where she lives.

Cheryl takes your calls and has been with the team for 5 years. During this time she has gained and retained an astounding knowledge of spares. Helpful and efficient she has a good relationship with our customers.

Cheryl is married and has 2 grown up children. She likes going on holiday to Turkey as she loves the sun! In her spare time she likes watching football and socialising with friends.

Kathleen:
Kathleen has been with us 2 years and works in the office. She helps out with the purchase invoicing and sales ledger and takes payments. Her daughter Zena is our general manager and son-in-law Gavin works in our despatch department.

Kathleen has 2 children and 2 grandchildren, she enjoys reading, gardening and family days out.

Katrina has been working with us for 3 years. Initially working in picking and packing she has now joined the office bods, answering your calls and taking your orders.

She has 2 children and enjoys going to the gym and meeting friends. And she is also a fully qualified nail technician!

Kerry:

Kerry has been with us for 7 years.  She has worked in most areas of the company, from the warehouse to the office, and has a good knowledge of spares. 

She is extremely helpful and will always try her best to help our customers and builds a good rapport with them. 

In her spare time Kerry likes to relax by going shopping and socialising with friends.

Martin has been with us for 14 years. He works in the office and also serves customers at our trade counter. Martin has a good knowledge of spares and is our computer expert – excellent at figuring problems out and a man with tons of patience.

He is married with 3 children and 7 grandchildren. In his spare time he helps with the local carnival and is currently secretary of Lostock Hall Conservative Club.

His new interest is trying to learn double entry booking keeping.

Neil:

Neil is our managing director. He started in the family business 35 years ago.  Since then, Gas Appliance Spares has developed into one of the top independent spares companies in the country. 

He is proud of the company and the dedicated team of staff he has working with him.

He is married to Janet and most of his spare time is taken up climbing mountains, dog walking and travelling; even as far as Mongolia (although he doesn’t have to go that far to get away from us).  He has climbed all the 3000ft mountains in Scotland and all the Wainwrights in the Lake District.

His latest venture is to climb Mt Kinabalu in Borneo.

Sue:

Sue has been with us for 17 years.  She is in charge of our trade counter and has an excellent rapport with our regular customers. You’ll also find her taking your calls and queries. 

In her spare time she loves gardening, feeding the hedgehogs that frequent her garden and enjoys walks in the countryside with her partner, Dave. 

Holidays are quite often to Greece and Austria.

Wendy has worked in despatch and is now in the office answering your calls and also on our trade counter. She has been with us 6 years.

Wendy has 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Her eldest daughter Hayley and her sister Paula also work here along with Katrina her daughter-in-law.

In her spare time Wendy enjoys shopping and holidays and spending time with her family.

Zena is the General Manager and if you have any problems or queries on the service you have received (or if you just want to say how good we are!) then Zena is your first port of call.

She has been with us for 21 years and through her hard work and reliability is now one of the most important members of our team.

She likes to build up a good working relationship with our customers and has an excellent depth of knowledge in all aspects of the business, including spares.

You will also speak to her on the phone answering your calls, which is in between presiding over the sales ledger, opening accounts and keeping our prices up to date. Zena is married to Gavin (who works in despatch) and has 2 children.

In her spare time she is a Level 1 football coach and also goes along to matches supporting her son when he is playing. As well as the coaching, Zena gets involved in various events for fund raising for the football team and Gas Appliance Spares (Preston) Ltd are one of the sponsors!

Debbie:

Debbie has been with the team for 9 years and is our “Parcel Room” supervisor.  Dealing with goods in, rotating stock, managing stock and warehouse as well as helping as required with despatch. 

Debbie takes immense pride in her work. The warehouse and logical and tidy storing of stock is a credit to her.  She is married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren – she is Kerry’s mum. 

Debbie enjoys watching Preston North End with her husband Stuart and loves walking in the countryside with her pet whippet – Blue.

Gavin:

Gavin has been with our team for 5 years, dealing with goods in and out and has built up a good knowledge of spare parts.

He is a bit of a computer geek, he loves reading about them and has managed to build one from scratch!  Gavin is married to Zena our general manager.  He likes to keep active and rides his bike to and from work most days. 

He is also an avid Darts fan and has won the local “Derby Doubles” competition with his Brother at just 17! and he supports Newcastle United.

Hayley:

Hayley has been with us for 10 years now and works in despatch – picking your orders, checking on other orders that have been picked and packing them with care and attention to detail.  She also helps with the goods in to cover holidays.

Hayley is married with 3 children and likes socialising and family holidays.  Her sons play junior football and she watches them with her husband Mick. 

Hayley has completed her second “Race for Life”.

Paula:

Paula joined our team 7 years ago and picks and packs your parcels with great enthusiasm.  She has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. 

She loves going out with family and friends and generally having a good time!  Paula has taken up jogging after completing her second “Race for Life”.

Rick:

Rick is our newest recruit, having been with us a year.  He is also our youngest member of staff.  He has already shown himself to be an asset to the parcel room team and gets involved in all aspects of the work. 

In his spare time he enjoys walking and has just completed a local charity walk of 20 miles and 20 pubs!

Stuart:

Stuart joined us 4 years ago and covers most jobs in despatch as well as helping with stock coming in to us. He is a great asset to the team also sorting the returns before passing onto Audrey.  He is married to Vicki and they have 2 children. 

He enjoys any sport and takes an active role in coaching his son’s junior football team. 

Stuart plays crown green bowling and was the youngest person to win the President Shield when he was just 15.
